Side by side

Max kept one side of the double stroller warm for Sadie's soon-to-be-arriving baby sister.

It looks like Spring!

...but it does not feel like it.

After changing Pawley's diaper a few times this morning, Max decided his furry pal was ready to be potty trained, so he dumped him right in the bowl

Colors!

Max worked on learning colors today and showed off his knowledge after school by naming the colors of crayons and fruit snacks.

Potty hijack

Max kicked his daddy off the toilet so that he could go pee pee [all over the floor].  Boys!

Max on wheels

Despite lack of rest, Max did a great job on his new skates today.  He initially thought they were ice skates, and since our attempt on the ice rink went as well as nap today, his excitement was surprising.  Once his feet were locked and loaded and his knee pads firmly secured, he collapsed like jello on the wood floor. And he loved it!  Once he was on the foam mat and carpeted basement he did great and rolled around like a pro.

Max is still obsessed with the moon.  Case and point- he was uncharacteristically calm while his nails were being clipped tonight.  He was fixated on his nail clippings, because they look like the moon.

Post-no-nap shenanigans

Instead of napping this afternoon, Max tore pages out of The Little Engine that Could, and emptied his diaper drawer in order to change Pawley's diaper a few dozen times.  Damaging the book was silly because that only shortened his favorite bedtime story.  The diaper fixation is hypocritical because Max hates getting his diaper changed, so why would Pawley want his changed so many times?  He probably wasn't even dirty.

Rocking, rolling and dancing down the street in his stylish sunglasses

Max had a tough time falling asleep for nap (aka- he threw a massive temper tantrum).  He eventually climbed out of his bed and into the recliner- where he napped for over two hours.  Even more surprising- he woke up in the best post-nap-mood ever!

Max throughly enjoyed his ice cream cone, along with bites of daddy's ice cream sundae.  The flat-bottom cone came in especially handy when Max carefully set it back down on the table in order return his attention to some chicken nugget remnants.  What a nugget!

Sweet dreams

Max had a cupcake at school yesterday to celebrate a friend's birthday.  He spoke about the cupcake nonstop after school and he must have dreamt about it, too.  The very first words out of Max's mouth this morning (with his eyes still closed and the lights off) were, "I want a cupcake".

Max inherited his mommy's sweet tooth so we made "cupcakes" (peanut butter muffins) after school.

Basketball and signing (at the same time) are the best ways to burn off energy (and cupcakes).

Fitness is fun!

Max went to the Fitness Fair at "mommy's school" tonight.  Although he was convinced we were there to see a basketball game, he was happy with the [stress] football, jump rope/headband/necklace, smoothies and Sadie.

Seize the daylight!

Today was the most beautiful and comfortable weather day of 2014 and Max took full advantage of it.

Cashing in on daylight saving

After months of cold, dark, icy nights, Max enjoyed playing in the sunshine until well after six o'clock.

Nothing is better then being greeted at the door by the happiest General!

Winter water land

Hopefully the warm weather this weekend is a sign that Spring is near, but Max is ready for summer! Since there are still many months until our neighbor pool is open (or warm) we went to Cub Run Recreation Center and had a blast in the indoor pool and on the water slide.

Max couldn't wait to get into the pool!

Max insisted on "cleaning the snow" this morning with Pa, but thanks to the sun today it all melted.

Moon out!

After days of saying, "Oh moooooon, where are you?", Max finally found it! It was too cold to spend much time outside, so Max pulled up his own front row seat.

Oh moon, Max found you!

Hi!

Snow crazy

Max did not get the memo about sleeping in on account of the snow day, so when he woke at 6:15am, the countdown to leave the house began.  We took a quick trip to the bookstore, but most of the day was spent playing around the house and being silly.  Nap time took up a good four and a half hours (two hours before actual sleep ensued), but a boy as energetic as Max needs his rest.  And so do his parents.

Smiling and soaked (yuck) after nap

Max loves to "flop".  We should start fining him like the NBA.
