[play] Dough boy

Max cooked up some homemade play dough this morning.  The recipe made an enormous batch of blue fun.  Luckily it is "edible", although disgusting, as Max could not help but have a taste.  Or two. Or more.

Kira loved breakfast at the bagel store.  No matter how croweded it is, Kira always has a seat.

Max is obsessed with the play area at Chick fil A, and tonight he became obsessed with a boy whom he followed/chased around and copied.  Once the boy realized Max was copying him, he had him doing hilarious things.

Kira wishes her room had a ceiling fan, but since it does not, mommy made her a heart mobile (since she is not an electrician).  Kira seems to like it.

Sleeping in

Max and Kira both were both put to bed at 7:00pm and they both woke up at the exact same time- 5:30am.  Not only was this Kira's first time sleeping through the night, but she went right back to sleep until 7:30am.  Max stayed awake and changed his clothes a dozen times.

Belly laughing...

All day!

Kira's smile was as big as her mommy's when she slept all night!

3-2-1 blast off!

Max's room

Exact opposites at the exact same time

Kira even smiles during diaper changes!

A very long and rough bedtime led to Gator pjs being put on backwards as to avoid a repeat strip show.  Max finally gave up and fell asleep at 9:30pm, so obviously he was up and ready to play at 4:55am.

Kira is three months old!

Kira has a cold, again, which has become par for the 'Max brings home germs and it is winter' course.  She was not super smiley for her three month picture, but there is no hiding how adorable she is.  Even with a cold, she is still a happy and patient baby girl.  She hardly cries, loves to coo, and enjoys when people talk to her so she can try to immitate them.  Hopefully she does not try to immitate [and can sleep through] the temper tantrums her big brother has had the past three nights.

Max had his first lip repair three days after this picture was taken; this was one of the last pictures of his super sized grin.  There were only about 1.5 million more taken over the following two days.

Kira loves Max!  Whenever he is in the room she can't take her eyes off him, making him the perfect photographer.  Max is really honing his photography skills....

Max took these two excellent photos

Father-son coaching (don't tell Max he is really just watching the freshman game)

Max wanted to dress like daddy, complete with tie and hair gel.  He refused to dress up for Thanksgiving but he wore a shirt and tie to school on a Wednesday.

Candy man

Who needs Hershey Park when Rite Aid is down the street, stocked with candy, and garners plenty of smiles.

The 'giggle so hard one eye closes' laugh must be genetic.

The Federal Government was delayed two hours due to snow, but Max was shooting hoops two hours before the sun came up.

Thank you, Kira, for sleeping until 7am.  Even though you still eat in the middle of the night, you wake up with a smile and sit patiently while mommy caters to the General's every command.

Big and little

...are both getting bigger and are about to outgrow their respective sibling shirts.  Kira has several more waiting in the wings. So does Max, but unless a shirt is of the basketball, baseball, or Sesame Street genre, it will merely take up space in his drawer, and spend lots of time in a disguarded heap on the floor in his room.

When Max wakes up at 5am we have LOTS of time to kill in the morning.

Peek-a-boo!  This hat is marked 0-3 months but it is huge!  Kira's outfit, on the other hand, is a bit snug.

"Look at my hair!"

Laughter is the worst medicine

Laughter is really working against the parental units in Max's house.  Max's impersonations of daddy coaching are spilling over from make-believe basketball games into reality. Coach, Jr. was in rare form tonight when his basketball game was rudely interrupted with dinner.  "I have to make the boys listen!!!!" he screamed as he refused to eat.  While mommy hid her face to laugh, he continued, "no I am NOT going to eat my dinner I neeeeeed to play!!!"  The shouting is rude and disrespectful, but it is also hilariously similar to tone and body language of an actual teenager.  In the end he did not eat.  Or play.  Loose-loose night with lots of [partially] hidden mommy laughs.

Sunday swim

Looking cute but on the verge of a spit-up induced outfit change.

Seriously the cutest serious face

Acrobatics

Max did a front flip right into Kira's crib.  Luckily it is just the pack and play, because odds are he would have done/attempted/gotten injured doing the same trick into a wood crib.  Max and his [dangerous] crib antics have been around since he was three months old and are still going strong.

Max "needed" a red basketball jacket like daddy and he was quite happy to get one.

"This is MINE!"

Dolls

Double cuddle nap

Busting out the big bottles.  "Just like baby Iris," said/sung Mr. Observant

"My pjs aren't listening!!!!" bellowed the boy who couldn't zip his suddenly favorite, year old, too tight sleepwear.  Max took after his pjs today.

Love cake for dessert

Sports car

Where are you going, Max?
"To a basketball game, a baseball game, and a football game."

Rise and shines

Max went into Kira's room first thing this morning, even before he busted into mommy and daddy's room.  So much for  giving her some peace and morning quiet.  He was dying to know if a balloon blew up in her mouth [in a dream].  Probably not, since she slept so well last night, unlike the general.

Five!  Max counted all five of his "shines" (necklaces) on his five fingers

Moving on up

Kira got her own room today!  She is pretty much happy anywhere so it is no surprise that she seems to like it.  Now she will be spared from Max's 5am storm-trooper greeting in mommy and daddy's room.  Although, her room would have to be sound proofed for that.

Max read Kira her bedtime story to commemorate her first night in her very own room.  He selected, Goodnight, Goodnight Constuction Site, which is sure to be one of her favorite pieces of literature.  Max also gave Kira advice, in case she got scared in her own room.  "If a balloon pops in your mouth just tell it you'll get it!", he barked at his little sister, clearly referring to his own bad dream.

Watching mommy get her room ready

Nap time in her own room

Playtime!

Daddy could not find his shoes this morning, but they were located this evening behind Max's playhouse.  Max said he needed them to coach.  So does daddy!

As usual, Kira was a doll while waiting for the car to be repaired.  It was hard to resist picking her up and squeezing her!

Captain Max went to school sporting his eye patch.  He actually says his eye hurts and the patch makes it feel better.
