Super Basketball Sunday

Despite the groundhog's gloomy, but not terribly surprising, winter prediction, the temperatures today were perfect for an outdoor playdate.  We met Sadie at a school playground and Max immediately started screaming "basketball game", yet ran away from the hoops. It was confusing until he ran towards the school and tried to go inside.  He continued to say "basketball game" because he thought there was one going on inside.  Luckily, Sadie's dad was nice [and tall] enough to hoist the kids up so they could take turns making baskets.  Even luckier- Max and Sadie did a great job taking turns!  But when Max heard "one more time" he took the ball and ran.  Uh oh.

We stopped at Trader Joes on the way home and when we left the store it was much darker then when we got there.  When we walked outside Max said, "light all gone".  It was the first time he seemed to notice (or at least verbalize) night time.  Max also met the moon for the first time tonight.  He said "moon up" and looked for it through the car window the whole way home.  "Hi moon", he said one minute, "moon all gone", the next.  And before we walked in the house he said, "goodnight moon".  What a great book.  What a great kid.

"Look tower Mommy"

Max was enjoying his peanut butter sandwich and yogurt until something else caught his eye.

"Birthday candle?!." (because all cupcakes or muffins are in honor of someone's birthday)

Max asked to put his sleep sack on for nap.  He slept for three hours and woke up happy.  Maybe he should wear it all day?

"Too high"
