12345

Max likes to count to five, but it is also possible that he thinks "12345" is a word.

Max went crazy calling timeouts at the basketball game.

Auntie Sadie's & Uncle Max's Pretzels

Sadie did the kneading and rolling, while Max was in charge of taste testing.

Excuse me

When Max burped tonight, as he does many [days and] nights, he said "excuse me".  It was the first time he said it on his own, but not the last.  After getting such a positive response for saying it once, he fake burped several more times, but followed each with a real "excuse me".

Mini Daddy

Max opened the refrigerator this morning, took out a can, and said, "daddy's cup". It was even cuter tonight when he said it while wearing daddy's jacket.  What is also humorous is the fact that David/daddy rarely drinks anything out of cans.  But given Max's addiction to drinking (water and milk!), he must pay extra close attention to other people's beverages.

Cake crasher

Max could hardly wait to get his mouth around one of these cupcakes.  Gianna had to keep pushing his hand away during the birthday song.

Pawley had a court side seat for Max's   basketball showcase.  But no one cheers louder for Max than Max.

Delay day

Schools were back open today, but not without a two-hour delay to ease back into the insanely short week.

Max doesn't believe in delayed openings, so he woke up extra early to watch ball in mommy and daddy's bed.

Third snow day's a charm

There was another snow day today for Fairfax County, but Max headed back to his school for some much needed playtime with his friends.

Another day, another snow day

There is nothing quite like a snow day after a three day weekend.  Except a snow day the next day, too (which was already announced for tomorrow).

Max whipped up some snow day pancakes.  Maybe his mom wouldn't have use up all of the ingredients in this batch if she knew there would be a snow day tomorrow, too.

Still in pajamas for dinner, but not to fear, Max picked out a fresh pair for tonight (and all day tomorrow).

"Two!"

Max's favorite number is two, which is a coincidence since he is my favorite two year old!  His eyes light up when he sees two of something, then he points to the items and shouts, "two!".   The two bowls on the dinner table tonight (one filled with yogurt and one with peanut butter- a carefully crafted meal for a picky eater with a sore throat), were very exciting.

Max did not let a sore throat keep him from being heard today.  He asked to "watch film" (recordings of David's basketball games) and pointed out "daddy coaching".  He says the same thing when he watches games on television, too.

Max is always hiding somewhere!

ABC's!

Max sang the entire Alphabet song, complete with all 26 letters, today! David, Max, and I were playing in the basement and Max started to sing the ABCs.  Usually he says a few letters, hums the rest of the song, and clearly exclaims "me!" at the end.  But today, somewhere around "G", we noticed Max was on a roll, and when he got to "Z" he got a standing ovation.  Even David, who did not think Max could truly walk until he could run a mile, agreed the redition was flawless.  The performance is yet to be duplicated (or recorded!), but Max is certainly not a one-hit-wonder.

Happy 2nd Birthday, Jackson!

Wait a minute, whose birthday is it?

Day 1 of Sporty Beasts class!

Max asked for his sunglasses and kept them on for the whole ride to gym class.

Just like the old days

Max had a great time this morning at the Heritage Farm Museum- partially because there were so many fun hands-on activities and partially because Sadie was one of those activities.  The old fashion General Store and kitchen were very popular.  Later we went to dinner at Mellow Mushroom, which was also a throw-back to [more recent] old times in Gainesville at UF.  Max was incredible and sat for an hour and a half, while munching on "pizza pie" and watching "two games" (translation: several basketball games playing on big screen televisions).

Watch out, don't want to fill that wheel barrow up too much

Not sure what this is but it's heavy and I'm allowed to touch it!

Max, Jake, and Kate were on their best behavior at dinner.  Max looks like a giant compared to them.

Hat day

When Max saw his new hat he pointed to the logo and said "baseball".  ESPN and the YES Network really do rival The Disney Channel in our house.

Circle, story, and...bath time

Max loves all of the activities at his school: story time, singing, dancing, coloring, and eating.  Today Max got to do an additional activity: bath time.  Why?  There are not enough wipes in the world for some disasters.  While it was plenty of fun for Max (who didn't want to get out of the tub), it was an enormous stinky mess for his enormously dedicated teacher.

 It's a Max!

Utensils

Max had some fairly decent attempts at cutting his chicken nuggets by himself.

But he was mostly excited about the cute girls at the other table.

And I was just very happy that he ate!
