Moon out!
After days of saying, "Oh moooooon, where are you?", Max finally found it! It was too cold to spend much time outside, so Max pulled up his own front row seat.

Snow crazy
Max did not get the memo about sleeping in on account of the snow day, so when he woke at 6:15am, the countdown to leave the house began. We took a quick trip to the bookstore, but most of the day was spent playing around the house and being silly. Nap time took up a good four and a half hours (two hours before actual sleep ensued), but a boy as energetic as Max needs his rest. And so do his parents.
What Max said: "I want to watch a movie"
What he watched: Baby Einstein's Baby Bach

Freshly squeezed juice
Starting off another snow day with some fresh squeezed clementine juice. Really quenching the counter's thirst.
Max fought against his nap for an hour and a half, but he finally succumbed and fell asleep on the floor. His brave daddy put him in his bed, where he napped until nearly 6:00pm. New record officially set.

Meet Max's shadow
Max met his shadow this morning and it was fascinating to see him interact with his spiked-hair reflection.
We stopped at an ATM tonight (to get cash for choo choo train and carousal) and before David put his card in the machine, Max said, "daddy gets money". David and I could not recall ever taking him to an ATM, so how did he know that?
Blotting and enjoying his pizza pie
Hmmm two or five?

Girls game
Max was surrounded by girls as ate, and occasionally cheered on, the South Lakes girls basketball team. At one point he ran onto the court during a time out. If only he had a responsible mom to look after him.

BED time!
After exactly 26 months of sleeping in a crib, Max climbed and cried his way out of bedtime behind bars. Unfortunately the absence of the crib does not equal the absence of crying. Or the presence of sleep.
Max finally passed out at 10pm last night; we were all exhausted from hours of fighting the crib battle. But when he woke up at 7am this morning rearing to escape again, the crib was officially retired.

All a boy wants...
This was a Jekyll and Hyde kind of weekend. By day, the sun was shining and Max was laughing, talking, singing, and playing happily. But by night, he morphed into a colicky newborn, waking every two hours and only falling asleep after hours of being cradled and rocked. While "cry-it-out" does not work on boy who straddles the side of the crib, there has been no shortage of crying. These newborn nights have been creeping up all week but this weekend's nights were especially sleepless, not to mention the days nap-less. But despite his (and mine and David's) lack of consecutive sleep, Max was in a terrific mood all day and cracked us up with his ridiculous orders, such as "I coaching, daddy shoot!", and saying "ready, set, go" before we go down the slide together. If only he would take one big order, and finally go to sleep.

Max does Mardi Gras
Mardi Gras carnival
Max did great at the games that required him to throw a ball, but he cheated at the duck fishing game. Who fishes for ducks anyway?

Daddy's biggest fan
Max went to his first full Varsity basketball game tonight. The game and Max were full of excitement, but despite an awesome effort by the team, Oakton did not win. Max, however, made it through the whole game, and stayed up until a record-breaking 9:30pm!
