Avery came over to play today and her and Max had so much fun! They made play dough, played baseball, went to the playground, and did about 100 other things in a span of two hours. Not only did they have a blast, but they were so well behaved. It was a great way to end a great weekend.

Breakfast club
Making pancakes is a special part of almost every morning, so both mommy and Max were eager to give Kira a taste of the action. She had a few bites this morning and she really liked it.
Max modeled and narrated detailed instructions about how to eat the pancake. "See you put the pancake in here (the cup holder on her tray) and than you eat it."
Just taking his remote control car for a walk down the street, down the slide, and through the tunnel
Max has a new pet. 'Daddy' the caterpillar now lives on our deck in a plastic container filled with leaves. Godspeed, Daddy [ the human one and the insect one].

Max and the Chocolate Factory
Uncle got Max hooked on Willy Wonka. Tonight he pretended to get sucked in the chocolate like Augustus (Max calls him 'Gusty') from the movie.
Dr. Kelley said Kira's red mark is just a birth mark that will probably go away within a year. Not surprisingly, she gained some weight; she is 16 pounds, 3 ounces. She put on a whole pound in two weeks.
While Kira was waiting to see Dr. Kelley she caught his attention while he was en route to see another patient. He could not resist her smile!

Finger food
Kira enjoyed her first bites of non-baby food today. She nibbled on bites of mango and strawberry, along with mommy's fingers.
Kira loved using the tray on her high chair for the first time.
Kira was sitting pretty with a full belly and lots of new hair. She is still sporting a curious red mark on her face; we are in the process of figuring out what it is. The good news is that it does not bother her at all.

Back to the market
The farmers market has reopened for the season; when Max found out where we were headed he said, "ice pop!" The new location at the metro plaza is ideal for commuters, but a nightmare for rowdy, curious, fearless three year olds. Easy access to escalators, elevators and trains is scary enough, but factor in busy crowds of commuters, and you have a parents' worst nightmare. A Max's dream come true.
April showers bring Max flowers
Kira likes tummy time but she still has not slept on her tummy. Every time she is on her belly she perks up and wants to try scooting. She has been trying to sleep on her side, but she would probably be more comfy on her belly.
Max asked on the way to school, "Why do mommies and daddies have to work?" Mommy told him, in terms he could relate to, "To buy you items at Target." "Thanks!" he quickly, and most sincerely replied.

Monday loving
Max said Kira could not go in the big girl seat unless her feet touched the bottom of the stroller. They did!
We walked to school this morning and Kira came inside to play. Max said that Kira is going to Miss Miranda's in the fall and she will crawl with Campell (his friend's baby sister that is going there next year).

Water works
First day of sprinkler play!
Kira loves her baths. So far she still loves everything in life with the exception of two things: having her nose wiped and occasionally going in the car seat, but luckily that is not all of the time and it lasts less than a minute.
