We all scream for ice cream

Kira loves the picture of the bunny pop on the side of the ice cream truck but she prefers to eat her brother's ice cream.

Max and his red marker face and pajamas were happy to oblige

Max drew Minnie for Kira

In between multiple pajama changes today, Max also put on "work clothes" to go to the playground while it was raining.

"Turtle!" Kira says while Max watches Teenage Mutang Ninja Turtles.  It is probably not the best choice of tot programming, but they only watch 2 minutes and move on and require live, parental entertainment.

Dressed for success at 6:50am- which is super late for Max!  This clock works 100% of the time...that Max actually wakes up after it is green at 6:30am.

Water play

Kira was only awake for THREE hours yesterday! She woke up feeling much better!

Off to Tot Shabbat!

She loves to play in this tree

Max sweetly helped Kira get her Torah

Off to Lake Fairfax while Kira naps

Max: Where are we going?
Mommy: Some place that you go in the water, but don't get wet.
Max: The car wash!!!!!

Max really wanted to pedal. It would have been nice to have another set of feet!

It was a beautiful day on the lake, but the ajacent water park was an enormous distraction [constant source of complaining].

He worked so hard (for a few seconds)

This little actor said he could not see without his glasses.  He wanted his own real glasses, but was forced to settle for sunglasses with the lenses popped out.  He cried about not having real glasses for a large part of the day but by bedtime he was satisfied.

Gator kids

Max picked out coordinating Gator apparel

There was a petting zoo at camp today.  This brave guy was the first one in the class to hold the little chick.

Kira found a new Minnie and of course she came to the pool

Where is Kira?

Peek-a-boo!!

Summer camp

Max started summer camp at his school today.

These two were in need of a quick morning bath after spending last night rolling around the airplane floor.

Max wanted to bring his "suitcase" to camp since he is fresh off vacation

Max took the bus to the swimming pool today!  Double excitement!

Kira is becoming so independent

Drawing up some very specific basketball plays

Star sighting!

The last day of our Florida vacation was so exciting because we got to meet a celebrity- Winter!  She is the dolphin that inspired two of Max's favorite movies, Dolphin Tale and Dolphin Tale 2.

Max actually asked to leave the aquarium so that he could go to the airport and put on his pajamas.  He and Kira proceed to run around the airport like maniacs while lots of strangers commented that, "they will sleep well on the plane."  NOPE!

These two lived it up in the front row of first class.  It turns out that having a 1.5 year old on your lap is allowed but awful [for anyone and everyone within several rows of said child].  It was worth the extra money so these two hooligans would have some space and not disturb everyone on board.

Who rode in 1st class 1st?!  Kira!
Kira- 20 months
Max- 4.5 years
Mommy- 36 years

Max was so happy that he was allowed to drink "beer" on the plane.  He only went to the bathroom a half dozen times.

Winter was asleep when we got to the aquarium, but we did not know because her eyes were open.  Dolphins sleep with their eyes open just like Max!  Winter was not wearing her prosthetic tale because she only wears it during physical therapy.  Max and Kira got to hold a prosthetic tale\, which they thought was cool, but they immediately selected a tale-less stuffed Winter in the gift shop.

We found Hope, Winter's friend in Dolphin Tale 2.

Sawyer (the boy who found Winter on the beach) was not at the aquarium on this day, but every time Max saw someone in a wet suit he screamed, "Oh my GOSH!  That's Sawyer!"

Kira look at the sharks!

Prickly!

Max pet a sting ray while Kira splashed her hands in the water

This is one of the pelicans that played Rufus in the movie!  Max was very concerned that Rufus would "get our stuff" like he did in the movie.

A little less love for this poor human-pelican

Everything about our trip to Florida was terrific, with one exception: several long, tear-scream filled car rides.

Publix!  Where shopping is a pleasure and the cookies are free!

Twins for our last day in Florida!  Max took this photo even though he was quite upset to not have a matching shirt.  Someone should really buy him more shirts.
