Sunny Sunday

When Kira woke up from her nap this afternoon it felt like summer!  Max had a very poiant conversation with his buddy Amari.

Max: Hey Amari!  Did you get that gray Gatorade from Target?
Amari: (shoulder shrug)
Max: Yeah!  I saw that Gatorade at Target I was gonna get it for my dad.

"Mommy I am so happy I saw the ice cream truck!"

Max has been taking about the Lion King all weekend!  We watched the Disney movie today but he was a bit disappointed that there were not "real people with face paint" in it.  His favorite part is when Scar pushes Mufasa off a cliff.  If you saw Max this weekend he probably told you that and/or asked you to participate in a Mufasa death scene reenactment.  In the cartoon version his favorite part is when Simba transforms from a cub to a lion.  Max went crazy when Simba got "a beard [mane] like his daddy!"

Kira watched a few minutes of the movie but she wanted to go outside to play

The playground is this way, mom!

Kira climbed the stairs to the big slide all by herself!  She may not love to walk but she loves to climb!

Kira was so excited to see Max when he woke up at 8am!!!!!!!

Kira slept until nearly 7am and was all smiles, but her little grin (and entire crib!) was plastered with throw up!  The time and cause remain a mystery but Kira was a-ok all day!  Nothing a morning bath can't fix!

Opening Day

Their day started and ended at a playground

Max passed Kira sticks and she threw them down the slide.  They both thought it was hilarious.

Max had his first t-ball game of the season.  He his three ground balls during the three inning game and most notably he wore the uniform.  Last year he refused the wear the shirt because it was too big (it really was enormous on all the kids), but this year he agreed to wear it if the sleeves were cut.  Someone on the other team was overheard asking, "who's the kid in the muscle shirt?"

We were so excited to celebrate at Tessa's 2nd birthday party!

Kira had so much fun that she fell asleep right after the party, while she was still practically eating her bagel!

Skittles and a show

Max, Timmy, and Cecelia went to see the Hughes Middle production of the Lion King, Jr.  They loved it!  When the play started with Rafiki singing they were hooked.  As much as they enjoyed it, Max and Timmy asked between every song and scene, "Is it over yet?"  Of course when it was over they immediately wanted to go home and watch Lion Guard (aka Lion King: The Next Generation).  All three made it through a 90 minute performance with one intermission, one bag of sour skittles (split three ways), and no incidents!  Bravo!

The show had not yet begun, but the countdown to intermission/SKITTLES had commenced.

Just a couple of happy campers ready to start a new day

Max woke up at 5am because he was so excited that it was pajama day at school. All he needed to complete his Ninja Turtle look was his 12 month old hoodie.

Garbage pail kids

These kiddos legitimately took the garbage pails back up from the curb and they don't even know what an allowance is!

Kira's new favorite thing in the whole wide world is brushing her teeth.  She squeals with delight when she sees the toothbrush come out and studiously keeps her mouth open the whole time.  It is the cutest!!!  Also the cutest- her high pony tail!

Spring swing

Spring is such a moody season- days range from mild summer to harsh winter to an occasional amazing spring day.  Today was that amazing day so we soaked it up because crazy freezing rain could be just around the corner.
