Game day

Max is channeling (and SCREAMING) his inner coach

Kira was all over the place at the game.  Literally!

Clean bowl club

Kira liked dinner just a little bit.  She ate more meatballs than Max and licked the bowl clean.

By 9am we were bored and desperate for entertainment.  Enter: pillow case race for one.

Bowling

The
Max and Kira went to a bowling party and while Max was only one who bowled, Kira had the greatest time!  The lanes were the perfect surface for her to scoot around on.

Kira loved watching the kids bowl...

...and watching Max refuse to use the "ball ramp?", and instead flinging the bowling ball through the air.

These fellas may be four now, but neither of them are moving this 15 pound ball anytime soon.

Since bowling alley floors are known to be extra sanitary, Kira decided it was a good time to start crawling.

Max insisted on wearing shorts, yet was surprisingly cold when we left the bowling alley and there were flurries.  He was even more mad that there was not enough snow to build a snow man, so we watched Frosty the Snowman instead.

Scooting for joy!

Kira thinks she can jump.  Truth be told she does have a pretty good non-walker jump!

Booger bath

Booger Brooks x 2

"Santa is here!!!!" Max screamed as he jumped off the roof of his playhouse.  He spent a good chunk of the evening asking a lot of questions...about Santa.  He just cannot wrap his head around how Santa gets down chimneys, how he gets the cover off the top of a chimney, and how he gets through the fire place gate.  We do not even have a fire place and Santa will not be returning for year, so of course this topic is on the forefront of Max's mind.

Stair master!!!

Treasure hunt

Max went on a hunt for some buried treasure- in the bath.

Bath time: The Musical

Max made up a song for some bath time entertainment-
"Take me out to the BAD game!...."
He continued to substitute the word "bad" whenever possible.

Kira ate her weight in Chick fil a and ice cream.   She needs the energy so she can climb up the stairs as soon as she gets home.

This is what happens when Kira gets 10 seconds of undivided attention.

This is Max's reaction to his new title: Booger Brooks.  He knows it is funny, but fitting.  According to Max, however, he is David because he is daddy.  He would not get out of his chair to leave school until mommy called him "David".

Role reversal

Today the role of Max will be played by Kira.  She woke up at 5:30am (in a great mood!) because she had heartburn and phone calls to make.

When Max came downstairs and saw that the living room furniture had been moved around he assumed, "Mommy!  You moved all this for me!? Thank you!  I love it!"  Yes, everything is for the general.  Except for when it is for Kira.

These two spend a lot of quality time jammed in this immobile vehicle together.

A good case of the Mondays

This morning may have been the easiest/best morning in many, many months.  Despite waking up earlier than usual (the kids!), Max and Kira were in chipper moods, got ready for school, and ate breakfast with zero drama.  They even had a few extra minutes to play, together, without fighting.

Minnie!

Max learned how to "safely" carry Kira after initially lifting the poor girl choke-hold style.  Kira loved it, of course, and look at that pike!

Max and mini-Max love to jump and sing-scream; the video was deafening.

Sunday snuggles

Max and Kira genuinely spent a lot of time [almost] playing together this weekend.  Kira has always been facinated by Max, but over the past few days they spent a lot of time in the playroom and basement together and there was minimal screaming and "accidental" hitting.

"I want to hold Kia like a baby!" Max said, before he settled for his ever-growing sister sitting beside him.

They love to be silly.  Max is clearly a full time/overtime comedian and Kira is following right along in his footsteps, mimicking every silly sound he makes.  Their screaming-laughing faces are identical.

Max is trying to learn how to spell and this chalk mat is vastly better than his faithful sharpie.

Max also asked to learning about rhyming and keeps trying to rhyme his friends' names.  Tonight after Ben went home Max asked 100 times, "What does Ben sound like?"  A little boy?  It turns out he was talking about rhyming.  He gave a hint first- "an animal".  Hen!  Of course.  His mind is always working.

This may have been the first time Max "changed" Kira's diaper.  Seems like that should have happened sooner.  Maybe it did, but chances are that Max would have remembered [the date and time and what he was wearing].

Kira had a great time playing with/near Ben and Max.  Also she loves to jump.  But she still cannot stand without holding on, so if someone asks her to jump she will hop up and down on her tushy.  It is so cute!

Child labor

If you wake up at 5:30am you should be required to do chores, but not to enjoy them so much.  Max takes the task of replacing the garbage bag very serious.  If the bag is not in just right he starts all over; any excuse to shake the bag like a maniac.

As soon as Max woke up he wanted to practice writing and play "school".  Miss Juliette draws an arrow next to each students' name, so Max is working on his arrow making skills.

Max is always asking, "teach me..."
Today he wanted someone to teach him the colors, which he already knows, but what he meant was teach him the order of a rainbow so that he could draw one.  He loves spotting rainbows and "sees" them all the time.  Max often spots a rainbow in the sunset and in the metal reflection in the inside of the dishwasher.

Max was already on his second or third cup of milk when Kira woke up around 7am.  They both love their "bottles".

Tot Shabbat- clearly they came for the kiddush.

Where did all the strawberries go?  In her tummy!

Kira is trying out the spikey hair just like Max.
