Musical Monday

"Raise your hand if you have a sister..." sang Max into his cash register microphone as his muse tried to play the piano along with him.

Kira was up on all fours for less than four seconds and hated every second of it.

Squeezed her little head into her baby heart hat!

"I'm not MAX!  I'm Daniel!!!!" screamed this blanket-clad General who insisted on bringing this tiger hood to school.

Sunday celebrations

Today we spent a ton of time outside in the crisp/cold fall air.  First we went to the festivities for the 25th anniversary of Reston, and later we went to the fall carnival at Frying Pan Park.  Kira got to sport her new cold weather gear and Max got to shiver in his shorts until he caved and put some pants on.

Kira is ready for fall weather!

Max is not.

Max eventually warmed/wised up and changed into the spare outfit his mom toted around.

Timmy loved the cotton candy, but Max did not.  He thought it was hair.

The boys took a horse-drawn carriage ride through the Town Center.  "I never saw a cowboy before," they both said of their driver.

Sharing is caring (aka- not being sent to time out)

We met Avery at the carnival

Kira was too little for the rides, and not a huge fan of standing, either.

The main thing Max and Avery wanted to do at the carnival was play games, not even for the prize, just to play (and pay!!!!$$$).  Their favorite ride was running through the obstacle course.  It was a fun/quick/easy was to burn through our tickets at the end of the day.

Max said he drove Kira to school

Mini Minnie

It's a beautiful day for the Bagel Cafe!

'Tis the season to wear your Halloween costume every weekend!  Kira went to the Halloween event at the Community Center this afternoon and had a blast dancing to the one man band.

She loved these pumpkins

Double nap

Max woke up at 4:01am.  For the second day in a row.

TGIF

Which one of us is dressed for the weather?

Not Max.  He was the only kid on the playground at school not wearing a jacket.  He marches to the beat of his own drum (and body temperature).

Kira loves to swing, especially when she can watch Max run wild at the same time.

Max was extremely proud that he walked across the pillars on his own.  Shortly after he tried to scale the playground wall on his own.  Thanks, high school boys.

"How do I get down?" Max screamed as he refused assistance.  He survived.

Career week at Max's school has been so interesting.  Today a veterinarian came to visit and Max got to listen to the dogs heartbeat.  They also had 'community helpers' such as a police officer come visit the class.  According to Max's teacher, he is relatively quiet during circle time, but when they were discussing people who help the community Max spoke up and said his dad coaches basketball.  The teacher later asked if that is why he is so coordinated and always carrying a ball around on the playground.  Yep!

Shark tank

"THE SHARKS ARE GETTING US!!!"

Catching cars

Kira wanted us to hurry and and finish dinner so we could all play together

Always up to no good...and sometimes he is [nearly] naked while doing it.

Max's newest morning stall tactic is giving everyone multiple "huggies" and kisses.  It would be super sweet (and it still sort of is) if it was not completely manipulative and peppered with intermittent temper tantrums.

Daddy look-a-like

"I'm David!" Max declared as mommy prayed he would reconsider adding an overnight diaper to his pajama ensemble.

Kira has something up her sleeve- an apple slice that she happily gnaw-smiled on.

Milk does a Kira good

Kira and mommy went to Trader Joe's to get some milk- for Kira!  She loved sharing the shopping cart with Minnie and her milk.

The milk was a hit!  She has drank water from this cup for a while, but she enjoyed the milk much more.

Max and daddy left the house for a few hours and Max was so excited to see Kira when he got home.  She was pretty happy, too!

While Kira napped, Max and mommy went on a bike ride.  Even with the absence of Kira's 18 pounds, it was incredibly hard to tow Max around the hills of Reston.

Mr. Knick Knack!

Sadie and Max could hardly contain their enthusiasm for the outdoor concert.

Genuine, unsolicited sharing!

Say "close your eyes!"

All mommy wanted for her birthday was a  family picture with everyone's eyes closed.  Check!

...and Bar Taco for the third time this week!

This chair is obviously a time machine.  It made Kira grow up in an instant and mommy never wants her to go near it again.

Today Kira and mommy went to the first Sunday Punims (Mommy and Me) class.  Kira had a great time!  She made an apple tree, played, and flashed her perm-a-smile to everyone in sight.
