Holding hands

Hand holding on the way home from Tot Shabbat

Kira loved Tot Shabbat!  She has only gone a handful of times because it falls during her morning nap, but now that she is getting older she is willing to take her nap later if it means fun, music, and friends.

Veggie shakers!  Even before we got to temple, Max said, "Kira can't have any shakers.  She'll put them in her mouth."  Pictured above are food shaped shakers NOT in Kira's mouth.  Not pictured, the apple shaker in Max's mouth.

Max loves the 'Bear Hunt' music video and Kira loves Max!

Broke out the winter mittens so no need for any other apparel. At all.

Kira spent most of the day in her fleece pjs; she was even more snugly than usual.

Max could not fight his nap after being awake for approximately 100 hours.

Dinner with our neighbor Audrey

Ready for chilly weather

It was impossible to pry half a grin out of Max when he wore this costume for Halloween TWO years ago, but today he was all laughs.  Fits like a glove [or a mouse suit].

Kira is very accommodating of Max

Santa needed to do an exercise video before bed.

"Fantastic!" Friday

In reality it was just an average Friday over here, but Max did garner a few chuckles with his new favorite F word.  He started randomly saying "FANTASTIC!" (which his teachers must say at school).
Max: Fantastic!
Mommy: Do you know what it means?
Max: No
Mommy: It means really, really good.
Max: Can I say it? Is it a bad word?

Santa's little helper (according to his pjs) is back to waking up before the crack of dawn.

Max gave himself a morning mani.  He actually clipped his nails by himself.

Faux crawl pose

Max made candy apples at school- yum!

"I want to see my boxers!" Max screamed as he stormed down the stairs after taking off his clothes and changing his underwear.

In his third (or forth, who can keep track) outfit of the day, Max played basketball...

and baseball.

Booster bus

Of course needs identical matching booster seats in mommy and daddy's cars.  "I'm a big boy now, right! I'm five!" so says Max.  He begged for daddy to sit in the front seat, but settled for Kira.

"I'm wearing my Cougar [the Oakton mascot] jacket.  It doesn't have a cat on it.  It has uncle [as in Uncle Jordan, as in it has a Michael Jordan logo on it]."
Mommy is just shocked he wore a jacket!

They love these matching magnets

Rocket ship

"I don't want to be anything for Halloween- I just want to be an astronaut," Max stated before he forced everyone into his rocket ship (this table).

Wrap us!

Kira loves to play with little cars- she is the best little sister that a big brother could ask for.

Good morning!

Cracking up at snack

It is impossible not to have a great day when this is how it starts

Kira was cracking herself up over this snack

Max look a like

Giggles with Minnie

Max loves guitars and there are so many to play with at school

Kira is 11 months old!

How is it possible that Kira will be a whole year old in one month?
Kira must be thinking about how happy she is to only need formula for one more month...

...because once she is drinking milk, surely she will get some of Max's Skittles.

Max's larger than life personality is now pictured on the wall of the metro plaza.  His picture was selected as part of the We Make Reston photo contest.

He begged mommy to take a thousand pictures of his picture...

of course little sister was happy to comply...

Daddy was proud, too.

Kira's pretty face was high in the sky on a nearby building

Mommy was suckered into getting Max a "big boy booster seat" before his birthday because she could not pry his screaming/crying/stronger than the Hulk trantruming body into his rejected car seat one more time.  It was an early birthday present for Max and mommy.

Boys will be ballers

Max and Timmy played together basically the entire day.  Kira came along for the ride, too.

Crawl position, sans the crawl.

Cheers to watered down Poweraid

Hide and seek while we wait for lunch

And back home to play, make messes, scream, fight, run, climb, and hug.  Oh, and let us not forget to say, "POOP!!!" at least 100 times.

Ready for sports with the boys!

"Call me daddy!" Max screamed with laughter while wearing daddy's dress socks.

Big kid crafts while Kira naps- first up- paper pumpkin dipping

Apple stamping with real apples- it is a wonder that Max did not eat the painted apples

...but of course he pretended to.
