Easy like Sunday morning

...except instead of easy, it was crazy around here as usual, with our resident goof ball and his adoring and oh so tolerant sister.

Max did flips out of the jumper while Kira jumped in her walker.  

Mommy is so sad to leave this perfect girl to go to work tomorrow.  Kira gets an extra week of summer vacation with daddy this week and she starts school at Miss Miranda's next week.

Shines and sunnies to the grocery store

Max partied (and wrestled) all night (until 9pm, which is the same thing) at Des's house.  He lived up his first official "school night" of the school year.

So much fun!

We had such a fun day and spent almost every minute outside.  The weather
was gorgeous this morning so we headed to the farmers market as soon as it opened.

We snacked on zucchini bread by the lake.  Of course Max wanted to go on a paddle boat ride, so we went back after dropping Kira off at home for her nap.

Max walked around the market for a hour with his life jacket on, but the boat rental man never came.

Then we finally remembered another nearby lake with boat rentals (and ducks!).  Max looked for ducks the whole time and we only went passed the buoys a dozen times in search of them.

Snack at sea

"Look! It's a tunnel mouth! Haaaaa!" Max said when he saw this bridge on the lake.

Max has recently noticed his pre-cleft surgery pictures and says that he used to have "a tunnel mouth," as he laughs hysterically.

After a THREE hour nap, thanks to Dolphin Tale (mommy's new favorite 'miracle-sleep-inducing-movie' in the whole wide world), we headed back to Lake Fairfax to go to the water park.

Kira LOVED IT!!  She could watch kids play all day long and be so happy.

Kira went on her first water slide and she loved that, too!  Her face is squinty, but she definitely liked the slide and the splash.

Max went down tons of slides and spent a lot of time perfecting his swimming ["like a shark!"].

It was such a pretty day!

The means to a hair cut

This looks a lot more fun than it was...

Max wanted a hair cut.

Max did not want to wear the "cape".

Max wanted to sit on mommy's lap.

Max gets what he wants and mommy gets covered in hair.

Kira gets to sit atop the three ring circus. She loved it!

The barber had to chase Max around the shop to finish the cut, but somehow Max earned himself three lollipops and toy.  The barber loves Max, but tips talk.

Max loves to say he is the boy on the Target diaper boxes.  Here he is, admiring his not self.

After begging to wear his pajamas outside, Max settled on bringing his blanket in the car and driving his paper steering wheel.

This is what mommy came home to after her first day back at work.  Max is finally sleeping off his vacation.  His eyes are 50% open, but he is most definitely asleep since he has no idea that Kira has his new guitar.

Adventureland!

Max and Kira ended their vacation at Adventureland and they loved it.  Kira was actually big enough to go on some rides, and Max went on some new rides that he was too small to go on last year.

Max went on a huge trampoline while harnessed on bungee cords.  The perfect adventure for Adventureland!

Max fell asleep during the three minute drive to Adventureland, so Kira and mommy went on a Target adventure while he napped.

Kira just loves to watch Max play, and what pretty surroundings at the playground.

Max could hardly wait to see the parrot show.  He remembers going to see the talented parrots last year, and even thought he should bring the necklaces that he won at the show last year.

...but this year Kira won a bracelet for having the cutest baby dance moves.  Max did get a shout out for being handsome.  That he is.

Kira was in mommy's tummy at the bird show last year, and this time she giggled and bounced all over the place.

A bounce house and water slide- what a fun combination!

During his first attempt at the big slide, Max took a tumble down the slippery ladder going up.  "It's only for the big boys," he said through his shaken tears.  A short while later, 'brave sheep' (from Green Sheep), asked to go back to the "rainbow slide" and had a blast!

Max helped Kira go down a slightly different slide, which she also loved because there was sand at the bottom.

"Look mommy those sheep said BA!" Max screamed as he waved and screamed, "Hi everybody! Hi animals!!!"
