Camp's out for...

...fall!  The pool is still open for a few more weeks (thank goodness!!!), but today was the last day of camp. Max still has one more week of summer vacation before he [and his mom] go back to school.

Max loves Hannah!

Just a few more feet and she can ride the scooter, but for now she is happy to enjoy it from the seated position.  No helmet required.

Prettiest pirate!!!

Bubbly

Kira woke up early, and Max woke up late, but most importantly, they both woke up happy!!

...and happy to see each other!

Max wandered onto the deck and asked through the screen door, "Mommy, can I do bubbles?"  The bubble machine was already cranking out waves of bubbles.  "Oh, I can really?!" he continued.

Max pleaded to go to Trader Joes after camp

Play date!

Max took a highly UNusual nap very late this afternoon, but luckily his friends Emma and Ava came over and played far past bedtime.

Bubble dance party

Emma and Max had so much fun playing and goofing around.

Accidental nap time: once a month from 3-5pm

Boy art!

"Wow! It's such a nice day!" Max exclaimed in one of his most mature voices.  He was indeed correct.

Duck pond

Whoever said, "August is the Sunday of summer" was right!  These two cheerful pool-goers have no idea that their summer oasis closes in a few weeks.

The duck tub kept Kira happy and dry in the freezing pool/pond water until she fell in.  Then she was happy and wet.

Max shared his wagon, but his maternal passenger may have exceeded the weight limit.

Riding into a new week

Max finally gave Kira a turn in the walker!  Bigger than the surprise of him sharing, was the fact that he slowly and carefully pushed her around the house.

Despite his scowl, Max was happy that Kira was his first mate on our evening walk.  He was upset, however, that she highjacked his seat (the one with a working buckle).

Now all we need is a bike to pull these two

Max scored a great deal and a great ride at the thrift store today.  He was quite regal as he was transported around the store in his mommy-drawn carriage.

Happy Monday, happy always!

Programmed since the day Kira came home, Max asks to hold his sister and than instructs mommy to, "Take a picture!"

Spotless

Could Max's polka dots finally be a thing of his storied past?  He woke up itch and dot-free this morning so hopefully the Cefdinir siege is over for good.

Max got a hole in one on his very first shot of mini golf!  [Daniel the] Tiger had a great round, even getting a second hole in one!

Popsicles with Pa.

Max got to his swim lesson early, so naturally he had to "pee in the woods like a bear" before the locker room was open.

Anniversary dinner crasher...

Might as well give him dessert too!

Clown car

These two were in a great mood tonight!

They played on the deck; Kira ate sand in addition to every morsel of food she could get her hands on.

After a very rough early morning (3-6am) spent in the ER, Max came home and slept until 11:15am!  That is super late and amazing, but even more necessary given he had approximately zero minutes of itchless sleep.

When his fever spiked at 3am, the doctor said he needed to go to the hospital, but luckily we got released after a few hours.  He is already on so much medicine there is really nothing new they could do for him except add Mortin to his anti-rash regime.  Max was actually quite excited to go to the hospital, nearly skipping to the car, but once we got there, "I wanna go home," was on repeat.

This afternoon we went to Costco, where Grandma got him the Puma socks that he has been highly coveting for weeks/ever since he saw Ben wearing them.

Max has been exclusively wearing these new boxer briefs for over 24 hours.  Exclusive meaning he has no shorts on over them. "My shorts hurt my dog!" he says as an excuse.

Kira is getting a tooth and having a growth spurt.  She has been double downing punches for days with a huge smile of satisfaction.

Max had his first "pee test"- and he passed!

Cruel and unusual allergic reaction

The dots are back with a vengeance.  Vengeance meaning ITCHY and covering every, single, square inch of Max's body.

Poor Max is on the maximum dose of steroids to control his discomfort, but his rash is too strong- just like his will!  He loves the "rainbow Cherrios" that Ben must have painted (according to Max), so he had them for dinner in bed while he itched his heart to sleep.

Max is totally fine while the medicine works.  He had a blast playing with Ben and Hannah this afternoon.  He even snuck baby Celia some rainbow Cherrios.

He loves Hannah!!

Kira spent her day smiling, laughing, and..

Spitting!

The sad face of a Cefdinir allergy.
