Party all Sunday

Max slept in this morning.  It was not until
6:20am that he greeted us, fully dressed, in this ensemble, for the third day in a row.  This morning he was especially excited to show off his buttoning skills.  Bravo. Now back to bed.  Fat chance.

Kira is starting to pick up on (or hear!) her brother's tendency to wake up early; she has been waking up even before him.

"Kira you cannot have my Mickey balls!"

Max was SO tired on the way into Target that he had to take a rest.  Makes more sense than sleeping until the sun comes up.

Max was obsessed with jumping...

Sliding...

And more jumping.  The diving board was a ton of fun for Max, the human canon ball, but it was an intense workout for his parents who had to tread water for infinity.  Max loved the diving board so much that he refused to break for anything.  Even to pee.  Always respectful of fellow swimmers, Max would not relieve himself in the pool, but when his bladder could not hold out any longer he peed right before a big jump.  On the diving board.

The girls had fun at the pool...

But the party was very close to nap time

Birthday cake break and than right back at the diving board.

Max had the gas, Gracie had the wheel.  Teamwork!

Swimming with the big boy

Double bath! No baby tub for this big girl tonight.

Max put on his "daddy" outfit for the third day in a row, so we attempted a double smile.

Max was really into trying to make Kira laugh.  In fact, he kept coming up behind the camera to sing songs and make faces.

They waited until we came inside to look (almost) smiley at the camera together

Who does this portrait look like?  Daniel the Tiger or Max?

Max wants a cat so badly that he drew whiskers on Kira. Instead of chalk that we used earlier, he opted for a more appropriate medium- a Sharpie pen.

Poor Kira is covered in bug bites, so Max rubbed them and they were all better.

Bite from head to fingers

We all enjoyed zucchini bread and blue grass music at the farmers market this morning.  Guess who was ready for her nap?

Max taught Kira how to open a [poopy diaper] bag in a mere 100 steps

TGIF

Max was real hot and tired after watching mommy do yard work all afternoon, so when the ice cream truck chimed down our court, it was a no brainer.  As always.   Kira stared longingly at her brother's ice cream, but be was not in the mood to share.  "No! Kira can't have any she doesn't have any teeth."  Not to worry, daddy shared his.

Poor Kira will have to find another snack...

Desperate times...

Max took this shot of our pruning victims.  Lots of leaves, branches, sweat, and hours, yet the yard still looks pretty much the same.

Instead of trying to crawl, Kira will just smile and say "da da da da". She knows where her next ice pop will come from.

These walks to school are the best. Even though Kira can hardly keep her eyes open in anticipation for her morning nap, we all have fun listening to music and running down/holding on tight down big hills.

Picture perfect

Max randomly decided to take a detour from his usual preschooliform and opt for khaki shorts and a polo shirt.  "I want to dress like daddy," he said as he thumbed through his shorts drawer.  "These shorts fit me perfectly," he proclaimed to Kira.  Mommy saw this as the perfect opportunity to take some nice photos of Max and Kira.  All the takes were 'out takes' but they were still pretty cute.

At least mommy and Kira smile simultaneously

M-A-X

Tonight in the bath Max said, "I'm going to write M-A-X".  And he did!

The first time Max wrote his name was in bath crayons.  He probably wrote it in regular crayons at school first.

Kira's mark is disappearing already/finally

Super short morning nap, but super smiley so it is okay!

Max crawl-raced Kira several times.  He won every race.  She did not cross the start line.

The "petting" is always amusing
