Picture perfect

Max randomly decided to take a detour from his usual preschooliform and opt for khaki shorts and a polo shirt.  "I want to dress like daddy," he said as he thumbed through his shorts drawer.  "These shorts fit me perfectly," he proclaimed to Kira.  Mommy saw this as the perfect opportunity to take some nice photos of Max and Kira.  All the takes were 'out takes' but they were still pretty cute.

At least mommy and Kira smile simultaneously

M-A-X

Tonight in the bath Max said, "I'm going to write M-A-X".  And he did!

The first time Max wrote his name was in bath crayons.  He probably wrote it in regular crayons at school first.

Kira's mark is disappearing already/finally

Super short morning nap, but super smiley so it is okay!

Max crawl-raced Kira several times.  He won every race.  She did not cross the start line.

The "petting" is always amusing

Anywhere chairs

It is very clear why these are called "Anywhere Chairs"- because even a toddler can pick them up and move them anywhere.  For example, Max dragged his into Kira's took this morning and than asked mommy to take a picture.

Max's furniture moving efforts were for naught.  He preferred Kira's chair.  Shocker.

Kira is still quite congested, but the doctor said it is just a cold.  She did get some special cream for her "mark", which Max was happy about because he is dying for that thing to go away.  Mommy and daddy are similarly dying for Max's temper tantrums to go away.  Do they make a cream for that?

Full of food and snot

The thrill of spotting Mister Potato head on the wall of Target never gets old

Max was excited to try on his new (old) life jacket for his boat rides this summer.  He was hysterically laughing while reminiscing about our paddle boat ride last summer, "remember when the ducks tried to eat my snack!?!"

Quality family game time quickly turned from board games to...

Wrestling

Finger licking good...

...raspberries
Max and Kira polished off the berries this morning

Kira woke up happy in her new crib, but her sheets were soaked with gooey germs from the cold she has been fighting for days.  Today was the first day in her life that she had a tough time napping, but she was still her smiley self for the majority of the day.

Sick and still happy and still saying "dada dada dada"

Kira played in the General's room while he was at school

Max went to the gym with daddy after school and he came home with a brand new basketball to add to his ever-growing collection.  He really is getting so good at basketball.  He can dribble for as long as he wants to and he makes a ton of baskets in the big hoop in the basement.

Kira's crib

Kira has been sleeping like college kid (not a baby, because babies do not typically sleep all night!) in her pack and play.  Max's old crib has been waiting in the wings (aka- the basement), but mommy spotted this girly gem at a rummage sale for only $15 and had to get it for Kira.  Max helped haul it home, along with some fun treasures for him as well.

Kira is excited for her new crib...

...and Max is excited for Pawley and him to share the bottom bunk.

Max got a game at the sale.  Looks like he is winning.

"I fell in the chocolate!" said our resident Wonka loving Gusty.  Kira was such a good sport and seemed to like getting splashed by her rambunctious big brother.

Max had a blast jumping his heart out at the Reston Little League baseball picnic. He jumped so much that he had to keep taking water breaks.  He thought it was funny that he got a hot dog from a bus (food truck) and drank every last drop of his Italian ices.

Saturday fun

Max woke up at 4:30am today.  For the second night/morning in a row.  When Kira woke up early, too, at 6am, he was happy to have an audience who was not begging for sleep.  "Look how I made Kira laugh!" Max said as he "ssssshhhhh"ed Kira into a million giggles.

Max and Pawley attended a grand opening party at Reston Hospital's new Pediatric ER. When he heard that he was allowed to bring Pawley for an examination he could not contain his excitement, but quickly asked, "Do I have to take my clothes off?"

Every time we pass the signs for the hospital Max reminds me that it is the hospital where Kira was born.  While we were there today we happened to run into Dr. M who delivered both Kira and Max.

Hopefully Max and Pawley never have to ride in an ambulance for real.  Max got to play on a fire truck, too, but just as he was about to try on the headset, the truck got called away for a real fire!

"Look I drew a circle!  I know how to draw a circle!" Max was so proud of his drawing!  Now he can draw many of his favorite things- basketballs, pancakes, and the moon.

Bath time is more fun than ever!

Not only does Kira love the bath, but she is even happy when bath is over.  She is alway happy!
