Big and little
...are both getting bigger and are about to outgrow their respective sibling shirts. Kira has several more waiting in the wings. So does Max, but unless a shirt is of the basketball, baseball, or Sesame Street genre, it will merely take up space in his drawer, and spend lots of time in a disguarded heap on the floor in his room.

Laughter is the worst medicine
Laughter is really working against the parental units in Max's house. Max's impersonations of daddy coaching are spilling over from make-believe basketball games into reality. Coach, Jr. was in rare form tonight when his basketball game was rudely interrupted with dinner. "I have to make the boys listen!!!!" he screamed as he refused to eat. While mommy hid her face to laugh, he continued, "no I am NOT going to eat my dinner I neeeeeed to play!!!" The shouting is rude and disrespectful, but it is also hilariously similar to tone and body language of an actual teenager. In the end he did not eat. Or play. Loose-loose night with lots of [partially] hidden mommy laughs.

Acrobatics
Max did a front flip right into Kira's crib. Luckily it is just the pack and play, because odds are he would have done/attempted/gotten injured doing the same trick into a wood crib. Max and his [dangerous] crib antics have been around since he was three months old and are still going strong.

Rise and shines
Max went into Kira's room first thing this morning, even before he busted into mommy and daddy's room. So much for giving her some peace and morning quiet. He was dying to know if a balloon blew up in her mouth [in a dream]. Probably not, since she slept so well last night, unlike the general.

Moving on up
Kira got her own room today! She is pretty much happy anywhere so it is no surprise that she seems to like it. Now she will be spared from Max's 5am storm-trooper greeting in mommy and daddy's room. Although, her room would have to be sound proofed for that.
Max read Kira her bedtime story to commemorate her first night in her very own room. He selected, Goodnight, Goodnight Constuction Site, which is sure to be one of her favorite pieces of literature. Max also gave Kira advice, in case she got scared in her own room. "If a balloon pops in your mouth just tell it you'll get it!", he barked at his little sister, clearly referring to his own bad dream.
Watching mommy get her room ready
Daddy could not find his shoes this morning, but they were located this evening behind Max's playhouse. Max said he needed them to coach. So does daddy!
As usual, Kira was a doll while waiting for the car to be repaired. It was hard to resist picking her up and squeezing her!

Captain Max
Max loves Captain Feathersword from The Wiggles so he was extremely excited to get a 'Jake the Pirate' eye patch at Jackson and Gianna's birthday party. He loved it so much that he napped with it on.

Matching
Max is positive that the photo of his former baby self is Kira. But really, how cute does Kira look in those baseball pjs?

Handed down with love
Deep in the basement, covered in a ton (literally the weight measurement ton) of soon-to-be-donated items, Kira's mommy found her something to wear- her mommy's 'coming home from the hospital outfit'. It is hard to believe that Kira's grandma made these booties and diaper cover over 34 years ago, or that the booties still fit. Maybe someday Kira will give these things to her little girl.
Max is very helpful when it comes to throwing things in the garbage, probably because he often finds things he wants in there. While disposing of Kira's dirty diaper this afternoon, he came across these super scratched up sunglasses and was baffled as to why someone would throw them away. The refuse glasses may have been yucky, but better than when he comes back eating food from the trash can.
