Beach day!

Sky high baseball socks for another hot day

While Max was at camp, the girls went to North Beach!  The beach day was really fun, and the tear-free car rides were awesome!

Kira ran right in!

Girl time!

Pink ladies

Soggy bows and Minnie bellies

Kira is obsessed with the ocean water!

Double Minnies

Snacking with Hattie

"COME!" she kept trying to get people to come in the water with her.  Truth be told she is lucky she did not get stung by a jellyfish!

Kicking her legs

Mommy goes back to work tomorrow by Kira has one more week of summer break!

Turtle power

Kira is definitely following in Max's dressing up footsteps

Sweet photo sent by Max's teacher, Ms. Beverly.  Just this morning Max said he loved Ms. Beverly and he spent the morning playing school and pretending to be her.

Exercise time!

Frozen (the movie) coma (ps- Kira's tv comas last < 8 minutes)

Max requested the "Wedding Movie" again and hoped he would catch a glimpse of himself.  No dice.

Cooking

Kira slept in these clothes (she has no shorts pjs and it is so hot!) and Max's sock-sandal combo is really something.

Perfect cure for the post-nap cranks; the perfect shirt for it, too!

Making sweet potato fries, but she would not even try them.

Too full from all the cheese

Pizza crazy kids making some extra mini zucchini pizzas

Footloose and floaty free

Avery came to the pool today and we all had a blast!

Avery showed off her new swimming skills, so Max tried it, too!  Not only did Max do a great job swimming but he jumped off the diving board and swam to the wall with no floaty a million times.  He was able to tread water and breathe;  it would have been a whole lot easier if he did not try to have an entire conversation while swimming.  "LOOK AT ME!!"  "AVERY!" "I'M SWIMMING!"
It was very exciting and Kira truly enjoyed splashing in the water while cheering him on.

Kira loved Avery so much that she wanted to spend a lot of time in the water with her and Max. It also might have helped that it was a thousand degrees outside and the typically fridgid pool water was finally warm.

"AVERY!" Kira screamed as she supervised her walk up the water slide.  Kira went down once (into daddy's arms!) and she did not cry but, "no!", she did not want to do it again.

Max was so excited to see Avery that he waited outside

Max (and Kira now!) loves playing restaurant.  His favorite part seems to be using not one, but two pens, to write down orders.  Unfortunatly his restaurant is extremely expensive ($20 for a slice of turkey bacon) and they are usually out of most foods. "No, sorry, we don't have that today!" he says 95% of the time.

Kira was happy to oblige and partake in Max's dress-up obsession

Finally Kira is awake (7am) we have been waiting or her for TWO HOURS...

Fountain of fun

Max was cold (in this 100 degree heat wave) and Kira screamed for pjs, too!

This was Max and Kira giving mommy a break- next to her bed.

Still not a huge fan of the pool...

...but a fountain fully clothed? Pure joy!

Beating the heat at the farmers market

Soaked!

We tried to get to the farmers market before it got to hot.  We should have tried harder!

Heat wave

Kira loves to give Max goodbye kisses at camp but she gets sad that "Maxey" does not come home with us.  There was a major heat wave today but for some reason Max dressed in a zillion layers.  He wore the basketball jersey he slept in, a swim shirt, a long sleeve sweater, and a jacket.  And pants.  Miss Beverly insisted that he take off his jacket before going to the playground (thank goodness he listens to her!), and she laughed as she recounted her surprise when Max peeled each shirt off.

Kira had a fun play date with Tessa and Sadie

Max's camp class had an art show.  The class put together a todem pole.

Max made an airplane so, "I can go back to Florida!" as well as a 3-D sculpture of a "bounce hanger" which he explained is a bounce house with something you can hang on inside.

Shots!

Kira see, Kira do

Guess why Kira went face first down the slide?  She did cry but then she did love it!

Second night in a row of paper plates and bathing suits- the perfect summer dinner!

"We grew a beanstalk! Because I watered the plants!" bragged Max as he watered the herbs for the second time ever.

"Pizza pie" (as Kira calls it) clean up is so much easier this way.  Max insisted on leaving his coaching clothes on, as he is likely saving his shorts for the snow.
