Mall rats

We spent a wild Saturday night at the mall.

Carousel cam!  Kira loved the ride!

Max immediately stripped down to his shorts when we got the to mall because, "it's gonna be SO hot in there!"  That is a direct quote.

Max wanted to go into the hurricane simulator, and why not?  He was dressed  for hurricane season.  The real reason he wanted to go in was not just to haphazardly waste $2, but rather to invest $2 on making his hair extra spikey from the wind.

Max has been trying to climb to the top of the baseball bat and job off for years- and he finally did it!

Crayon rubbings at the aquarium with Sadie and Tessa

Max caught some fish while Kira looked on...

...and fell in.  Luckily it was not filled with water, but it was filled with gravel...

Yellow submarine!

"Baby sharks!" Max incorrectly exclaimed.  There were no giant fish at the mini aquarium, so it was a good thing that Max was content with these "baby sharks".

Why did Max want to paint AND turn all
the paint into "poopy paint" at 6:00AM!?!

Kira was ready for breakfast but instead Max gave her a paint brush

TGIF

Thanks to the snowstorm, this entire week has basically been one gigantic weekend.

Working hard

Max is into perfecting his Xs and Kira is into chewing the markers

Musical breakfast chairs

Kira was not happy about having her chair high jacked

Max loves when everyone plays in his room; the door always has to be shut.

Room for two

Max really wanted a sleepover party, sans the sleep.

Not quite as big as The Wiggles red car

Another day, another snow day

Would trashing this "snow day" magnet help speed along the snow clearing process?

There is a tiny bit of snow left on the deck.

It was actually quite warm today, so pjs it is.

Kira ventured out this morning to the doctor (she has an ear infection), but she had a good view of Max's shanigence from inside.

Kira's favorite doll is her favorite teething/tackle device as well.

Apparently she likes lettuce (she ate mommy's salad and than her own bowl)...

...and yogurt

 ...but she loves her doll!

She was feeling so much better tonight...

...and she could not be happier to go to sleep.  The flash/picture taking does not even deter her from falling asleep because she is just so happy to get tucked into her crib.

Same snow, different day

With snow like this, pajamas and snow suits are the only clothes these children will ever need.

No school!  Let's wake up extra early!
(ps: No school tomorrow.  More snow suit and pj pics coming soon [forever])

Don't worry, it's still there

Five minutes of fort fun

Flying saucers

Frosty!

Kira enjoyed the snow a little more today.  She liked sliding down some of the smaller snow piles by our front door.  Her favorite part of going out in the snow is surprisingly the getting dressed part.  She is so comfy just sitting by the door in her puffy attire.

"Mini-Max"
Max begged for a snowman of his own, but showed very little interest in doing any of the heavy lifting/snow ball making.

Max's favorite household task is still putting a clean bag in the garbage pail.  Today he had an audience, Cecelia, so he hopped in the pail and sang..."I'm a piece of garbage!"

Prisoners of snow

It finally stopped snowing!

It's all fun and games until the clean up begins...

Good thing Iron Man is around to help with the shoveling

Kira stayed inside during our first venture outdoors this morning

Max did not even pretend to help shovel. He was all about the snow sports.  "I'm a sled!!!"  he screamed ans he flung himself down gargantuan snow drifts.

Looking for something warmer to do

About 1,000 hours after Max and Kira woke up, the rest of the neighborhood was awake

Desperate times call for afternoon baths to pass the time

Igloo on Ansdel

A women's work is never done- Ceci and Claire hauled Max and Timmy around to find a big hill to sled down.

Mission accomplished!  We found a great hill and two saucer sleds.

Snowed in

We are literally swimming in snow.

We have not measured how much snow is actually out there, but it is higher than Kira, lower than Max, and definitely more than anyone should ever have to shovel.

Kira stood on her own for a few seconds today.  All of this time inside has provided plenty of time for some intense walking lessons.

Round two: Try to wear Max out before bed

A little bit of homeschooling since we may be trapped inside forever
