Snowed in

We are literally swimming in snow.

We have not measured how much snow is actually out there, but it is higher than Kira, lower than Max, and definitely more than anyone should ever have to shovel.

Kira stood on her own for a few seconds today.  All of this time inside has provided plenty of time for some intense walking lessons.

Round two: Try to wear Max out before bed

A little bit of homeschooling since we may be trapped inside forever

Hello, snow

It seems like this blizzard has been in the news forever, but now that it is finally underway, it can hurry up and end [AND MELT!].

Max needs a coat like we need a blizzard.  Not at all!

Snow is made for scooting, and that's just what she'll do!

Max-ie

Get me back out there!

Blizzard prep

This is how Max and Kira feel about the impending blizzard...

They just cannot wait to be home for days...

Kira looks so grown up sitting at the piano!

She lights up when she gets the Mickey light to light up!

Everyone was so happy that daddy was home after school!

Max was hard at work drawing Ninja Turtles at school this afternoon

Mutant Ninja Max

Max begged for a ninja turtle mask after school today.  Luckily we had some green felt on hand to wrap around his ninja face.  He worked hard to fight off all of the "bad guys" around Kira.

When is Max going to stop obsessing over his mask?

This is how Max feels after school

Game day

Max is channeling (and SCREAMING) his inner coach

Kira was all over the place at the game.  Literally!

Clean bowl club

Kira liked dinner just a little bit.  She ate more meatballs than Max and licked the bowl clean.

By 9am we were bored and desperate for entertainment.  Enter: pillow case race for one.

Bowling

The
Max and Kira went to a bowling party and while Max was only one who bowled, Kira had the greatest time!  The lanes were the perfect surface for her to scoot around on.

Kira loved watching the kids bowl...

...and watching Max refuse to use the "ball ramp?", and instead flinging the bowling ball through the air.

These fellas may be four now, but neither of them are moving this 15 pound ball anytime soon.

Since bowling alley floors are known to be extra sanitary, Kira decided it was a good time to start crawling.

Max insisted on wearing shorts, yet was surprisingly cold when we left the bowling alley and there were flurries.  He was even more mad that there was not enough snow to build a snow man, so we watched Frosty the Snowman instead.

Scooting for joy!

Kira thinks she can jump.  Truth be told she does have a pretty good non-walker jump!

Booger bath

Booger Brooks x 2

"Santa is here!!!!" Max screamed as he jumped off the roof of his playhouse.  He spent a good chunk of the evening asking a lot of questions...about Santa.  He just cannot wrap his head around how Santa gets down chimneys, how he gets the cover off the top of a chimney, and how he gets through the fire place gate.  We do not even have a fire place and Santa will not be returning for year, so of course this topic is on the forefront of Max's mind.

Max went on a hunt for some buried treasure- in the bath.
