Happy Hanukah!

This twin track suit photo op is courtesy of Aunt Arielle's Hanukah package.  As soon as Max saw these outfits he insisted on putting them on AND going for a walk in them.  Kira kept her pjs on underneath to stay warm, while Max lied through his clattering teeth that he was not cold.

Max wrote his name all over this chalk mat.  He also asked to learn how to draw a heart.

Thank you, Dolphin Tale 2, for this afternoon nap.  Unfortunately his sisterly counterpart only naps 45 minutes per day so this bliss was shortly interrupted.

Another day, another menorah made by Max.  He made a Lego menorah at a Hanukah party and did a great job counting out the types of Legos and following the directions to assemble it.

He made a Lego dreidel, too.  Next up, an Ikea dresser!

Very serious about his crafts

It was all about the Legos and crafts until Max found the gym!

Max wanted to a turn at the microphone (karaoke), but instead of selecting a Hanukah song from the list, he asked to sing God Bless America.  In an interesting case of stage fright (there was not a stage or any real audience) Max did not actually sing.  He just stood there holding the mic while the music played in the background.  He sort of moved his lips, yet insisted that he sang the whole song.  It was pretty much the sweetest non-performance ever.

Hugs

Kira loves her doll and gives her the sweetest hugs.  Kira gets about a few thousand a day, too.

Clubhouse shenanigans

"Look at my Hanukkah menorah birthday thing!" Max announced proudly as he showed off the menorah he made at Tot Shabbat

Max loves to play around the insanely dangerous statue and fountain at Lake Anne.  The sharp stone structures are most certainly, secretly filled with magnets to attract kids.

What a gorgeous day!

Wait for little scooter!

Kira scoots to keep up with the kids

That face!  Those teeth!  This girl!!!

TGIF

'Tis the season!

"This is my favorite one.  Can I sleep
With it?"  Max said about his newly minted favorite ornament.  It is a baby's first Christmas ornament with a picture of Max when he was one day old.

Pizza pie party

Max made Kira and his dinner tonight- pizza pie!  We have not made pizza in a long time because although Max likes the process of making pizza (and a mess), he never wants to eat it (unless it comes from a restaurant).  Tonight he made a "diamond" shaped pizza and ate the entire thing.

Pizza night!

Kira loves puzzles

"Do you see my hair print, mommy?" Max asked as he looked in the water for the outline of his soapy head.

Potty party

When will these races be by foot?

Kira spent the whole evening clutching this necklace that Max gifted her this morning.

"Happy birthday to somebody!" Max sang in his potty birthday party.  After he was told to keep the candles away from Kira [so she would not eat them], he decided that the bathroom was the only safe place to celebrate "somebody" with his bowl full of candles.

Eye of the Max

Max got his face painted for the first time tonight.  He picked a green tiger and he ever, ever, ever wants to take it off.  Lucky the make-up wipes worked swiftly and he dried the tears from his tiger-free face with his tiger blanket.

Hope Kira does not have green tiger nightmares.

Ready for school!

Nap strike

Kira woke up happy this morning but she is on a serious daytime nap strike.

Max slept in the parking lot and Kira came out to the car to check on him.

That look...

Naughty or nice?

Max wore his bathing suit and swim shirt with a huge paper that said "MAX" taped to it.  "Look at my lace shoes," Max said to Santa instead of asking him for Christmas [or Hanukah!] gifts.  He was planning on asking Santa for a car wash (which he just got), but the excitement of the lace shoes distracted him.  He did tell Santa that he would be nice.  Kira did not say much, she just smiled and tried to nose dive off Santa's sofa.

Shopping in style

Kira adores her daddy.  She was hugging his arm throughout our food court dinner.  It is also highly probable that she wanted his fried rice.

Santa was on a break when we got to the mall,  which was excellent, because daddy and pa waited in the number one spot while Max and Kira rode the train.

Max wrote this all by himself without any supervision.  He was so proud that he wanted to tape it to his belly and wear it all evening.  Mommy was equally proud of his penmanship and the fact that the Sharpie remained on the paper.

This 13 month old napped for zero minutes yesterday and only one hour today.

"Take a picture of us with our necklaces" Max asked after he was gifted necklaces for being brave while mommy removed a splinter from the bottom of his foot.

Caught red handed/headed with a few of Kira's items...
