Max has been reenacting Hoosiers all week long. Friday movie night is coming up again, and it will likely be a rerun.

Baby baller
Kira loves to play ball! It must be genetic (from her dad's side, of course!). She is a star at roly poly and clutches baseballs, footballs, and basketballs tighter than her favorite dolls. Today she scooted her little tushy over to the baby basketball hoop and got shots up all by herself.
Max wandered into mommy and daddy's bed at 1am and demanded, "put your arm around me,". It was quite sweet, and he fell back asleep (he was the one). He slept all the way until 6am; the new sleeping in.
Max has been playing basketball all weekend, even more than usual since watching Hoosiers on Friday night. His favorite scene in the movie is "On the court, off the wagon"; he has watched it at least 20 times this weekend. He is fixated on every detail of the scene, from the boys' uniforms to the location of blood spatter ("spider" shaped) on a player's shoulder. He does not seem aware that the assistant coach is a belligerent drunk that gets ejected from the game, but he is aware that the referees in the movie have the same shirts as the referee animals on his yogurt drink containers.

Egg head
Max woke up dark and early, ran happily to mommy's bedside and asked for eggs. After devouring two scrambled eggs before daybreak, Max helped create a collage of his (and a few of Kira's) finest art work.
He was not asked to pose for this, so of course he did.
While Kira was asleep (not that it would matter if she was awake), Max turned her Minnie sofa into a car bed. It is his new favorite basement pastime.
Kira felt much better today! She had no fever, but she enjoyed lazy Saturday in her pjs all day, just to be on the safe side.
Ben came over after Tot Shabbat and they boys did about one million activities in the span of two hours.

Friday night movie night!
After nearly four years of shamelessly trying and failing to get Max hooked on television, we finally made some progress! We watched Hoosiers for our first "family movie night" and Max sat through (and paid attention to!!!) the entire thing! The enormous bowl of popcorn that he clutched and munched the entire time undoubtedly helped stretch his attention span. Poor little Kira is still struck down by an awful bug that is keeping her feverish and lethargic. Unlike Max, who bounces back from fevers overnight, Kira has been sick for a few days now. She saw the doctor who said she has a cold virus, but it is a bad one! Even though she does not seem to have enough energy to smile, she is still as sweet and cuddly as ever.
Mommy was set her alarm for 5:00am to exercise, but Max saved her the trouble by shouting, "GOOD MORNING!" in her ear at 4:58am. He also saved her from doing a complete 30 minute workout, thanks to his one zillion interruptions.

Smart board v. Black board
Kira was so happy this morning, as usual, but came home early with a fever. She slept approximately 100 hours, which is approximately 200 times the amount that Max has slept in his life.
Max is the only one in our house who knows how to use a Smart Board, nevermind that both of his parents are teachers.
Max has been having some difficulty adhering to the rules of life. As a consequence he got some of his toys taken away. The items were locked in the car, the only location truly out of Max's reach. Here he is, perched atop the car, in his relentless effort to get his way.
Max continued his writing practice at home on a blackboard, a device that his mom, dad, and baby sister know how to use.

Shots at sunset
Little Kira had her one year check-up tonight and the poor baby got three shots! The nurse warned that they would all hurt pretty bad, and they did, but it was over quickly. Kira is 20 pounds and 30 inches; 25th percentile for weight and almost 90th for height. Her four little rabbit teeth welcomed some new friends recently; she has two more teeth in her smile.
Kira loves the birthday Cabbage Patch doll that grandma brought her. She kept hugging it and putting her new toy phone up to her face.
Max declared that this is his soap now because, you guessed it, he is a BIG boy.
Max had to decide what color team Joe, his [semi-imaginary] teammate and he were going to be for their game tonight.
At least it was not dark or cold out...
