Two second snack break with Max's best beach buddy, Carter. Kira's personal pool was the perfect shelter from the sand.

Saved the best for last
Today is the "unofficial" end of summer and we ended it in the most summery way possible- with a trip to the beach! Who knew that there was a beach located an hour away from our door? Not us! After a quick, traffic-less (on a holiday weekend!!) drive, we arrived in North Beach, Maryland. We set up camp just feet from the water and Max swam like a shark for three hours! Kira ate sand for three hours! There were no meltdowns for three hours! It was the best summer day!

Happy Birthdays
Two birthday parties in one day means a lot of fun celebrating with old friends. It also includes a full day of eating exclusively pizza and cupcakes.
Max wolfed down several slices of pizza pie, while Kira gobbled down the crusts. Timmy's birthday party was a great way to say goodbye to the pool for the summer.
Max was bubble-less (no floaty) for his last pool day of the summer. We told him the pool was closing and he was very understanding. That is until the next time he wants to go to the pool...

Somewhere over the rainbow
Max slept until 8am!! He showed daddy how to make a rainbow while Kira happily observed and semi-safely chewed on some larger pieces.
"This is my FAVORITE STORE!!!" Max proclaimed in the parking lot of TJ Maxx. He loves the escalator and trying on glasses. "I'm daddy!!" he said about this pair.
His sucker of a mother obliged his early Halloween wish and when he begged to take the show on the road, she agreed to that, too.
Max really wanted to go see firemen. We brought them pizza and Max did not even want a piece. The men were so welcoming and gave Max a tour of the firehouse and truck.

Morning cheer
Another happy morning for little sister in her big brothers sleep sack.
It is safe to say that Max has a pretty good time at his new school. The summer in September continues...

Waffle House
Look who got a seat at the big (...little) table! Max ran to the kitchen and made a waffle after school. He got it out of the freezer, dragged over a chair, and toasted it all by himself. He did, however, require assistance with the most important part- "the sauce" (syrup). Kira liked her waffle, too!

Summer in September
After a rough first day, Kira was much happier at Miss Miranda's today. We ran right to the pool after school to celebrate and to stay cool in the scorching heat.
Max loves to tell people, "I can swim without my floaties," which translates to, "If stay in the shallow end, where I can stand, I can go under water and sometimes kick my legs. My mom only has a heart attack 70% of the time we are at the pool."
Max also said, "It's okay to go pee pee in your bathing suit [in the pool!] because when your bathing suit gets wet it dries by itself." True and yuck.
"Daddy!!!!" Max screamed as he spotted his dad walking to the pool from a million miles away. His eye sight is as good as his memory.
Ready for Miss Miranda's!

Teeth!
Four teeth and no tears. Just another reason Kira is the best girl in the world, or at the very least, in our house.

Sister beware
Max has a case of aggressive brothering these days, and he is not the least bit intimidated by local law enforcement. Kira is a wonderful sport- she takes the head bops and keeps smiling.
All of Max's breakfast dreams came true- chocolate chip pancakes at Tot Shabbat with Ben and Hannah.
Max continues to take charge of dressing himself. He is usually granted artistic freedom, however, un-matching basketball shorts and a t-shirt were not going to fly for Tot Shabbat this morning. Max finally selected an ensemble that met his parentals' requirements- a collared shirt and "dressy shorts". Matching was clearly not a requirement, but the handsome, "I'm a devil," smirk matches everything.
