Saturday fun

Max woke up at 4:30am today.  For the second night/morning in a row.  When Kira woke up early, too, at 6am, he was happy to have an audience who was not begging for sleep.  "Look how I made Kira laugh!" Max said as he "ssssshhhhh"ed Kira into a million giggles.

Max and Pawley attended a grand opening party at Reston Hospital's new Pediatric ER. When he heard that he was allowed to bring Pawley for an examination he could not contain his excitement, but quickly asked, "Do I have to take my clothes off?"

Every time we pass the signs for the hospital Max reminds me that it is the hospital where Kira was born.  While we were there today we happened to run into Dr. M who delivered both Kira and Max.

Hopefully Max and Pawley never have to ride in an ambulance for real.  Max got to play on a fire truck, too, but just as he was about to try on the headset, the truck got called away for a real fire!

Deck art

"Look I drew a circle!  I know how to draw a circle!" Max was so proud of his drawing!  Now he can draw many of his favorite things- basketballs, pancakes, and the moon.

Bath time is more fun than ever!

Not only does Kira love the bath, but she is even happy when bath is over.  She is alway happy!

TGIF

Morning pj playtime
Mommy: Max, can you say Kira?
Max: No, I can't say Kira, I can only say KIA

Kira would rather play memory with Max

Kira loves her Abby doll from Sesame Place

Visiting Norma at Langley

Max's sneakers got lost somewhere on Sesame Street, so we made an emergency trip to the mall to get a new "exact same" pair.  We could not find the identical Nikes, but Max found New Balance sneakers that happened to be the same colors.  Apparently Connor, from baseball, has them, too, which was really the reason Max wanted them.  While we were at the mall, mommy tried on a dress and asked Max if he liked it.  "You look like a princess," he said, "SOFIA, SOFIA, SOFIA" he screamed.  What a little Prince Charming.

"Look dad let me show you how to shoot it."

Playtime

Max taught Kira how to use the shape sorter and how to race cars.  She loved it and laugh-cooed the whole time. She also spit out cute little noises that sound a lot like, "dada".

"Good job, Kira!" Max said after he put all the shapes in for her

Sesame Surprise!

We played hookie today and surprised Max and Kira with a trip to Sesame Place!  They were both so great in the car and slept almost the whole way.  When we arrived at our surprise destination, they had one more big surprise- Grandma and Pa were there, too!

We kept our destination a surprise until the very last second.  Max pondered where we might be headed, "to the farmers market??" he guessed.

Max, Pawley, and Kira were very tired in the car

Grandma and Pa, is that you!?

We ran into Bert and Ernie as soon as we arrived.  Max was so excited!

Kira loves Sesame and daddy!

"I'm a drink!" Max said as he twirled around in the monster tea cups

It was a sunny day on Sesame Street, but only 70 degrees.  Max, however, still wanted to brave the freezing cold water to try out The Count's Splash Castle.

The trek up to the water slide was treacherous!  We were sprayed and splashed with buckets of ice cold water while we walked several flights of stairs.  When we finally made it to the top, Max was to nervous to go down, and everyone had go solo, so Max in mommy's lap was a no-go.  Mommy pretending to go with Max, but pushing him down himself, however, was allowed (in fact, the lifeguard kind of encouraged it...).  Of course mommy was right behind the General, who LOVED the slide so much that he went 100 more times.  So did mommy.  Burrrrrrrr

Max wanted to know what is in Oscars garbage can

Some more QT with the boys before Sesame Street closes

Parade!

Max played the balloon popping game and won twice!  The lady even let him help blow up some of the balloons.

[Activity] Table for two

Kira loves blueberries and timely holiday bibs

Did mommy let me out of the house without a bow?!?

Kira came to say goodbye to Mrs. Yobs at the Hughes retirement party

Max came to the after party and really spiced things up with his risqué look.  In his defense, he was genuinely upset about getting sauce on his shirt and put a clean shirt on when we got home...an hour later.

It is 60 and drizzling, but the geese still need to eat, so says Max.
