Blast off!

Max had a blast (literally) at the Air and Space Museum.  It was not easy for him to accept the fact that he could not go on the airplanes and spaceship, but luckily he was able to visit outer space  in a flight simulator.  Mommy, Ganma, and Pa could not believe that Max was not the least bit scared of the realistic ride; rather he wanted to go on again!

The Muffin Man

Max's Friday had a rocky beginning when the car would not start; after demanding "mommy drive", he suggested that he drive his own red car to his summer camp.   Eventually Max made it to camp, but his beloved sippy cup did not (it wound up in the street during a chaotic car transfer), yet he survived on his new big-boy cup drinking skills.  The morning's excitement led to Max's first no-tantrum nap in weeks, which was much appreciated.   Before his nap, however, he requested that mommy cut the nails on his feet.  Procrastination tactic, perhaps, but certainly hilarious.  The comedy show continued during bathtime when Max decided that the new rubber mat in the tub was a diving board.  The real diving board may prove safer than bathtub diving.

Max's "cupcake" supply was running low, so after camp he whipped up some more; just don't tell him that he made zucchini muffins.  He loves helping in the kitchen and drags a chair over to the counter anytime he sees cooking action.

Pajama party!

Max loves pjs.  His latest morning trend  is to request to "leave my pjs on" (after his diaper change) or to put "other pjs on".  This morning he decided that Pawley needed pjs too.  But when he heard that was a "pajama party" he immediately said he wanted a cupcake.  Luckily he still thinks oatmeal blueberry muffins are cupcakes.

Summer camp continues to be a huge hit.  Although Max is still displaying major "transition" behavior at home (ie: "NO!!" to everything), he talks about his summer camp all the time and loves going.  He also learned how to drink from a regular cup (without spilling everywhere).  Tonight he put Pawley in his backpack, turned around and waved, and said, "bye, bye, Mommy, don't cry, I'm going to my summer camp".  That made mommy cry just a little.

Max knows all the colors!

Max had FOUR "cupcakes" today!

Big boys in the big pool

Max begged to "jump off my diving board",  even going so far as to wear his dreaded "bubble" (float), but instead of taking the leap he insisted that daddy do it.  He was quite entertained.  Max did go down the water slide, at lightening speed, on his belly.  Luckily after two times, he was done with that heart-attack inducing activity.

Daddy did it!

Bagel dance

Max loves music, butter, bagels, and the bagel store- roughly in that order.

Happy Birthday, America!

Max loves everything about Independence Day!

Stomping on Pop Pop Snappers

The Great Falls parade- trucks, candy, balloons, and friends- what more could Max want?

Family fun day!

Max, his half-baked sibling, and mommy did the three-legged race.  We may not have won, but we stayed tied together the whole time- victory!

These firecrackers cannot get enough fireworks

Shhhhhhhh Max

Stand back, boys!

Boooooom!

Luckily Max was not scared of the thunderstorm, in fact it entertained him.

Woah!

Could there be a cuter camper?

"My summer camp"

Max walked mommy to "my summer camp" room this morning and showed her where he hangs his lunch box and backpack.  His teacher, Hanna, whom he adores, said he enjoyed the sports session and was surprised about how much he talked about basketball.  No one else is!:)

Can't wait to get to my summer camp!

Happy camper

Max started camp today, and although there were some tears at drop off, he had a fun and exhausting day.  Before he fell into a post-camp nap slumber, he said he wants to go back to his "summer camp" tomorrow.

Excited to bring his new lunchbox to camp

Post-camp adventure

Yum!
