Teeth!
Four teeth and no tears. Just another reason Kira is the best girl in the world, or at the very least, in our house.

Sister beware
Max has a case of aggressive brothering these days, and he is not the least bit intimidated by local law enforcement. Kira is a wonderful sport- she takes the head bops and keeps smiling.
All of Max's breakfast dreams came true- chocolate chip pancakes at Tot Shabbat with Ben and Hannah.
Max continues to take charge of dressing himself. He is usually granted artistic freedom, however, un-matching basketball shorts and a t-shirt were not going to fly for Tot Shabbat this morning. Max finally selected an ensemble that met his parentals' requirements- a collared shirt and "dressy shorts". Matching was clearly not a requirement, but the handsome, "I'm a devil," smirk matches everything.

Kira is 10 months old!
Kira cannot even believe she is ten months old!
Guess who finished their cone first?
This 10 month old bambino devoured every last morsel of this baby cone.
Max put an end to his dinasour pajama streak and opted for his baseball pjs tonight. "I'm Derek Jeter!" he announced, followed by, "Take my picture of me as Derek Jeter!"
Done and done.

Smiley girl
Kira loved the swing today, even when Max wildly pushed her. Unfortunately, his continued wild antics got him an early ejection from the playground.

Back to school
Max started his new 'big boy school' today, while Kira spent some special alone time with daddy. They had lots of fun and even visited mommy at work.
Max was up so late last night that he had to be woken up for school in the morning. The last time Max had to be woken up was.........
After some negotiation, Max agreed to wear something other than pajamas to school. We have been talking about his new school all summer long, and visited last week so he knew what to expect. Max was eager to go into the school, but once mommy left he was screaming mad. Literally and physically. After five minutes he calmed down and had a terrific day. At pick up, two boys immediately reported that Max had so much fun, and they were right. Three year olds are so smart!
Max told mommy this evening that tomorrow he is going to laugh at school and love it and that mommy can, "Drop me off at school, but just for a little bit. Like a minute or an hour and then come pick me up. OK!!??"

Easy like Sunday morning
...except instead of easy, it was crazy around here as usual, with our resident goof ball and his adoring and oh so tolerant sister.
Mommy is so sad to leave this perfect girl to go to work tomorrow. Kira gets an extra week of summer vacation with daddy this week and she starts school at Miss Miranda's next week.

So much fun!
We had such a fun day and spent almost every minute outside. The weather
was gorgeous this morning so we headed to the farmers market as soon as it opened.
was gorgeous this morning so we headed to the farmers market as soon as it opened.
We snacked on zucchini bread by the lake. Of course Max wanted to go on a paddle boat ride, so we went back after dropping Kira off at home for her nap.
Max walked around the market for a hour with his life jacket on, but the boat rental man never came.
Then we finally remembered another nearby lake with boat rentals (and ducks!). Max looked for ducks the whole time and we only went passed the buoys a dozen times in search of them.
Max has recently noticed his pre-cleft surgery pictures and says that he used to have "a tunnel mouth," as he laughs hysterically.
After a THREE hour nap, thanks to Dolphin Tale (mommy's new favorite 'miracle-sleep-inducing-movie' in the whole wide world), we headed back to Lake Fairfax to go to the water park.
Kira LOVED IT!! She could watch kids play all day long and be so happy.
