All American
A parade, football, and Thanksgiving leftovers- what could be more American?
Max braved the freezing temperatures to watch the whole Reston holiday parade. His favorite part was the ROTC- they must have reminded him of General Border and Drummer Hoff.

Happy Turkey Day!
From sun up to sun down, Max could not have been happier all day. That's what I am thankful for!

Happy Birthday Sadie/Hanukkah!
The first night of Hanukkah is also Sadie's second birthday! Two candles on the menorah- how perfect! Max devoured his first taste (and his mom's first attempt) of potato latkes. It was also a treat for Max because Sadie and him got to open gifts together. Jen made her two former students/one current daughter the most adorable lunch boxes filled with the cutest felt play food. Max's mom and dad gave him a chalk board. He will probably eat both.

Hola!
Max loves to sing along with his laptop on the Spanish setting. "Hola!", he screams every time the song starts, and every ten seconds when it begins all over again.

Mail call
Max gets so excited to check the mail everyday after school. When he lifts the lid and sees envelopes inside, he screams "mail, mail, mail" and pulls everything out. Today he grew highly attached to the phone bill and insisted on coloring it. But not paying it.

Pack
Max brought his "pack" to school today. He loves his empty, yet fashionable academic accessory.

Jail bird
Max climbed out of his crib tonight- another milestone to wreak havoc on an already fragile sleep situation. For the past couple of weeks he has been waking up once or twice a night. We think the poor guy is having nightmares because he wakes up screaming and takes quite a while to calm down. It's a flash back to infant/post-surgery days. And that was within the confines of his crib. But now that his escape has been hatched and successfully executed, it may prove difficult to extend his bedtime behind bars much longer.

Colorful
Max asked to color and wound up drawing, taking out crayons, and putting them away, for 30 minutes. Which is almost forever in toddler time.
